Pastor Antônio Gilberto da Silva is considered by many to be the greatest name in Pentecostal theology in Brazil. He stood out as an educator, journalist, theologian, best-selling author and columnist, and as a reference in the area of Sunday School and Pentecostal Theology in the country. Antonio Gilberto was born on June 7, 1927, in the city of Várzeas (RN). He converted at the age of 14 through his older brother José Apolonio da Silva, who would also become a pastor in the Assemblies of God like him. In 1948, he joined the Brazilian Navy, where he served as a marine. In the same year he entered military service, he was transferred to Rio de Janeiro, where he began to congregate in the Assembly of God in São Cristóvão.
