In 2013 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List along with other wooden Orthodox churches in Poland and Ukraine. It is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship. The church in Powroźnik existed since 1600, but only part of the original building has survived, incorporated into the body of the current church as a sacristy.
