The first female neurosurgeon in the world was Romanian, and not Diana Beck, as was discussed in the past. The Englishwoman first operated on the brain in 1952, eight years after Sofia Ionescu's first intervention. This is the sensational story of Sofia Ionescu Ogrezeanu, the doctor who lived in the hospital for 7 years and who sacrificed his personal life to save thousands of brains.
