But what do you need to consider when preparing it? PORTAFILTER, FULLY AUTOMATIC OR FILTER? With portafilter machines, there is also the cost factor of the coffee grinder. To ensure that the coffee tastes aromatic, it is recommended that you grind the beans fresh at home. You should therefore budget between 100 and 200 euros for this. Many portafilter machines alone cost over 1000 euros. But now cheap machines have also conquered the market - there are already some for under 100 euros. Are they impressive? WHICH COFFEE TASTES BEST? In the taste test, our testers agreed: The coffee tastes best from the portafilter and filter. ROASTER, SUPERMARKET OR ORGANIC FOOD STORE: WHICH COFFEE BEANS ARE GOOD? Espresso and coffee beans are available in a wide range of price categories. But can you taste the price differences? A couple tried three different products for us: - Coffee from the roastery for €16.99 - Organic coffee from the supermarket for €10.99 - Coffee from a discount store for €8.99 All varieties are prepared in a French press. The discount store coffee is convincing in terms of taste. The roast quality of the most expensive coffee is disappointing. Tip: Well-roasted beans are matte and not too light.
