Just a year ago, the one millionth Porsche 911 rolled off the production line in Zuffenhausen. No other sports car has been bought as often, and that has been the case for 53 years, in many different versions and now 8 model series. How is that possible? Alexander Porsche and his design department designed the first 911 with the classic lines in the early 1960s. And it quickly became a huge success. This was helped by a number of motorsport victories and, of course, Steve McQueen, who drives the 911 across the screen in the Hollywood film Le Mans. The classic 911 Coupé was soon joined by the legendary and innovative 911 Targa, a convertible with a removable roof section instead of a folding top. The cult object of Porsche collectors is the Carrera RS: the car easily managed 245 km/h. Today, collectors pay a million euros for a car like this. The film tells the story of 911 enthusiasts and their dreams. ------------------------- ► Used cars - when the previous damage is not visible Market check SWR: • Used cars - when the previous damage ... ► E-cars: insurance rip-offs after the accident Market check SWR: • E-cars: insurance rip-offs after the ... ► Car icons: Opel Kapitän, the German road cruiser: • Opel Kapitän, the German road cruiser ... ► Car icons: VW Bus, the Bulli SWR: • Video ► The Duck - cult car Citroen 2 CV: • Video ---------------------------- ► More information about the show on our homepage: http://www.swr.de/marktcheck ► and on our Facebook page / marktcheck ► You can subscribe to our channel here: https://bit.ly/34ebysh ► You can find more about our eco-checkers on Instagram: / oekochecker ► Comments are welcome - but please observe the netiquette: http://www.swr.de/netiquette --------------------------- #auto #marktcheck #porsche Image source: Colourbox
