In this video we will touch upon the topic of pond waterproofing, is it possible to make a reservoir without waterproofing. Is it possible to raise the water level in a pond by covering the edges of the reservoir with a film, without reaching the bottom of the pond? Not to the bottom - definitely not, the water will come between the film and the edge of the pond, and will also filter out. If the pond is small - it is more profitable to cover the entire bowl with waterproofing. An idea that is cost-effective for large ponds is as follows: We bury the waterproofing film in a trench at the bottom, to a depth of a meter, and tamp it with clay. The clay plug begins to act as a waterproofing for the pond. Thus, we save on the film, not covering the entire bottom area. In hot weather, the pond dried up by half, the banks crumbled. Is it possible to fill the screed with concrete with vertical formwork? Of course, if you make concrete edges of the pond, then it will be pushed out and torn by frozen soil. To prevent this from happening, it is necessary to make deep formwork, carry out drainage, make sand backfill so that in winter heaving soils do not squeeze out all this concrete - and this is expensive.
