Article about Podlasie: https://poznajekraje.pl/2022/09/22/po... Podlasie is a region of intertwining cultures and pure nature. It hides a lot of attractions, secrets, adventures and still living traditions. This film is about the attractions of Podlasie, but not only that, because there will be a few more places that we have included in our guide to Podlasie. The first place on our Podlasie sightseeing plan is the Narew National Park, through which the Narew River flows. A big attraction of Podlasie is the Śliwno-Waniewo Footbridge, a wooden bridge with floating platforms leading over the Narew River and its backwaters. It is also worth visiting the "Młynarzówka" nature education center in Kurów. Another attraction of Podlasie that we will visit is the Biebrza National Park, the largest National Park in Poland. It is famous for its wetlands, marshes and peat bogs, and the Tsar's Road, called the Łosiostrada, runs through its centre, because you can meet a moose here! With our guide to Podlasie, you will also visit the Białowieża National Park, one of the oldest National Parks in Europe. It protects the best-preserved part of the Białowieża Forest and you can find there, among other things, the European Bison Show Reserve. There are also several educational trails here that are worth including in your Podlasie sightseeing plan. In the very heart of the Białowieża Forest lies Białowieża with the brick church of St. Nicholas and the park with the governor's manor house, which currently houses the Nature Education Centre. Let's stay in the Białowieża Forest for a while, because another attraction of Podlasie is a unique tree. IT'S the Dunin Oak, which stands on the edge of the forest. It is 400 years old and has been named the European Tree of the Year 2021. Another attraction of Podlasie is the Knyszyńska Forest, one of the largest forest complexes in the country. It has picturesque scenic routes and a network of hiking trails. In the heart of the Knyszyńska Forest lies Supraśl, a small and atmospheric town. There are historic Weavers' Houses, the Museum of Icons, the Museum of Printing and Papermaking, as well as an impressive male monastery. It is worth seeing this town when visiting Podlasie. Another attraction of Podlasie is the Pentowo Manor, which was awarded the title of the European Stork Village in 2001. There are over 20 inhabited nests on its premises, located on trees, buildings and poles. Are you wondering what else to see in Podlasie? Of course, the Land of Open Shutters, which includes, among others, three villages: Trześcianka, Soce and Puchły. There are beautifully decorated wooden cottages with decorative shutters and colourful Orthodox churches, of which there are supposedly around 150 in Podlasie! Orthodox churches are a huge attraction of Podlasie, which cannot be missed in the sightseeing plan. While visiting Podlasie, it is also worth going to the Holy Mountain of Grabarka, the most important place of religious worship for Orthodox believers in Poland. There is an Orthodox nunnery and an Orthodox church surrounded by tens of thousands of wooden crosses. On a small island, among lush vegetation and by the calmly flowing Narew River, there is the Skete of Saints Anthony and Theodosius Pieczerski in Odrynki. It is a hidden attraction of Podlasie, which is worth visiting, because it is a truly extraordinary place. Let's move a little further now, beyond the borders of Podlasie, to see why this region of Poland is called a multicultural place. The wooden mosque in Kruszyniany is the oldest mosque in Poland. You can visit it while listening to the story of a guide. Behind the temple there is an old Tatar cemetery, mizar. Tykocin is one of the biggest attractions of Podlasie and a beautifully preserved small town. It is worth taking a walk along the cobbled streets that have preserved the layout of a traditional Jewish town. It is worth seeing the Holy Trinity Church, which stands right next to the market square, as well as the Great Synagogue, which houses a museum. Are you wondering what else to see in Podlasie? Of course, Białystok, the largest city in the Podlasie province and the capital of Podlasie. It is worth going to Kościuszko Market Square and seeing the Branicki Palace, one of the biggest attractions of Podlasie, called the Polish Versailles. Murals are also a showcase of Białystok.
