It's play day for the giraffes in the zoo. District manager Claudia Walther is always thinking of something new. The giraffes are very skittish animals and need to get used to a variety of objects in their enclosure. Her goal: the giraffes should eventually be able to stay outside at night without being afraid. The yellow ball no longer scares any of the giraffes, but they eye the basket of straw with suspicion. There is unrest among the Indian giant fruit bats in the tropical hall of the Alfred Brehm House. A mother fruit bat had to make an emergency landing with her child and lost her young. The young one is now hanging close to the ground in a bush - out of reach of the mother. The two animal keepers Christine Hein and Jenny Ballentin are worried. There is a latecomer among the water buffalo in the Berlin Zoo. The oldest cow in the herd, Olga, has given birth to a young one. The little girl is called Orella and is the third in the group. All three girls are doing well and even the smallest one is already being petted by the zookeepers. Also in this episode of "Panda, Gorilla & Co.": Banteng boy Buddy meets his family and veterinarian Dr. Andreas Ochs makes house calls to leopard Hakan and rhinoceros Yoda.
