Micro-sprinkler: a sustainable solution for rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa. Faced with the challenges of rural development in Sub-Saharan Africa, it is crucial to find suitable and sustainable solutions. After several years of testing on small irrigated areas, we have found that micro-sprinkler powered by photovoltaic solar pumping stands out as one of the best options. Properly installed, used and maintained, this technology offers a viable solution for rural families. In this video, we present a concrete example: an irrigated area in Malenga-Nagsoré, Burkina Faso. This project, initially designed for 5 farmers on an area of one hectare, was unfortunately overloaded to 25 farmers, making the model unviable. However, this experience illustrates the remarkable potential of micro-sprinkler when implemented in optimal conditions. By investing in well-sized perimeters, where each farmer has a suitable plot of 0.20 to 0.25 hectares, we can transform these initiatives into real levers for economic and social growth. Micro-sprinklers, combined with solar energy, are a promising solution for a better and more prosperous future for rural families in Sub-Saharan Africa. Together, let's build a sustainable future!
