Tips for photographing snow, exposure, aperture, ways to improve subjects, shots, exposure and composition. Snow brings joy and a little melancholy, but photography has different needs than our eyes, it must highlight shapes, engrave lines and exposed contours. It is up to us to frame, choose what and how to photograph, setting the right parameters, time, aperture and also sensitivity. I prefer little snow for photographing because too much snow erases everything, roads, shapes and, however beautiful it is, everything flattens, becomes almost monotonous, while a dusting accentuates the shapes, embroiders woods, fields, roads and makes the landscape fairy-tale. Paradoxically, the shutter speeds are very low despite the white reflected by the snow, because when the clouds are compact and low, little light penetrates and the speed is very low, as in this video where I had to shoot even at 1/8 of a second... It was not easy to photograph in these conditions because it was snowing continuously and the snowflakes created many problems on the lenses of the camera and the video camera, to the point of creating stains and deformations. Cold but pleasant day because, me and the landscape, deep silence interrupted only by the call of the ducks. When the sun set, obviously behind the clouds, I entered the blue hour with the color temperature of a beautiful blue dominant. The last shots were complicated, the polar cold prevented my fingers from articulation and the strong wind made the tripod vibrate. I managed to take a few shots, then darkness suddenly fell.
