In today's vlog I will show you what a photo darkroom looks like in a block of flats basement! I will be making prints on Ilford paper in 30x40 format, which I will develop in Adox Neutol NE. Lack of space is just an excuse. I have organized my photo darkroom in a block of flats basement. The area I have at my disposal for playing with the analog world is 1.5 meters by about 2 meters. The lack of running water and small space did not stop me from organizing my own photographic darkroom. I have a shelf there where chemicals such as developer, interrupter and finally fixer are stored. On two wallpapering tables there are trays and an enlarger with a darkroom clock and a mask. The mask that I used in today's vlog is from the Czechoslovak company Meopta and I can honestly recommend it. The Adox Neutol NE developer brings out wonderful blacks, and today they were what I wanted. The interrupter was a regular vinegar solution, and the fixer was Adox Adofix Plus. I was asked to print three photographs onto a 30x40 format. It turned out that they were on three different negatives. Each negative was also a different film. Adox CMS 20 II PRO, Agfa APX 100 and Ilford HP4, which had an expiration date of 2006. The cameras I used to take these photos were Pentax ES II with a Tair 300 Fotosnajper lens, Konica T4 and Canon AE1. So you have a complete mishmash and quite a challenge. Each print had to have a test run before it was properly developed. See for yourself... So I invite you to the vlog - Photo darkroom in a block of flats' basement!
