Khorat Thais are the most densely populated group of people in Nakhon Ratchasima Province. They have their own dialect and identity that is a result of the fusion of many cultures. In particular, in terms of dialect, Khorat people use the Central Thai-Isan dialect and use Central Thai vocabulary, but they still retain the characteristics of high-middle-low letters and Thai tones. In the past, Khorat Thais settled in the Khorat Basin in the Khorat Plateau. People have settled in the Khorat Basin since prehistoric times, up until the Dvaravati, Khmer, Ayutthaya, and Rattanakosin periods. Nakhon Ratchasima is a frontier city that is a clash between the cultures of the Central, Isan, and Khmer. This diversity has fused into the unique identity of the Thai people, and they have maintained their identity to this day. Watch other programs at http://tv.trf.or.th
