Paid leave is due to employed workers: disabled in serious situations; parents, including adoptive or foster parents, of disabled children in serious situations; spouse, civil union partner, de facto partner (Article 1, paragraphs 36 and 37, Law 76/2016), relatives or in-laws within the third degree of disabled family members in serious situations.
