Despite being outnumbered, Asa trusted in the Lord and prayed for protection. God answered his prayer and defeated Zerah's army, allowing Asa and his army to return victorious to Jerusalem. The passage concludes by saying that Asa and his people enjoyed peace and prosperity for many years.
