A panel discussion with the singer Paľ Drapák. In the beginning, he forgot about the beginnings of his career - from amateur singing in rock bands to the stellar era of frontman in the legendary Metalinda. She shone in the early 90s with songs in the style of melodic heavy metal and with Drapák's unmistakable four and a half octave vocal range. He also explained the later departure from the band and the decision to embark on a solo career. He thinks that artistic freedom still exists since 1989, it is worse with freedom of speech. He also drew attention to the great division of society, which, according to him, Igor Matovič brought to the current state with his hateful policy. "People have never been more at odds with each other than they are now," he said. As he added, the citizens have known him well over the years, and yet they voted for him, which he considers proof that Slovaks are unteachable. In his musical career, he also experienced performance bans and restrictions for political reasons - for the fact that he and his group appeared in the campaigns of certain political parties, which he considers legitimate in a democratic and pluralistic society. When asked how he lives in the globalized digital world, where social networks reign and there are attempts to influence people's thinking and limit their personal freedoms, he answered that many achievements of the digital era make our lives easier and are good helpers. However, it also applies in the opposite guard. Among other things, he cited digital payments against cash as an example, stressing that he prefers the second option. He is also concerned about the growing influence of artificial intelligence, which in his opinion can be dangerous for humanity. He added that in the future AI may also threaten artists and the existence of art itself. In the next part of the interview, he talked about the LGBTI theme, which has long been intensively penetrating the artistic sphere. He noted that he has many friends of a different sexual orientation, and even they are beginning to resent the violent enforcement of this agenda, as it creates unnecessary tension in society that turns against them. He also commented on the events surrounding the Ministry of Culture and the public protests, which are mainly performed by actors. According to him, many artists allow themselves to be abused for political purposes. He defended the Minister of Culture Martina Šimkovičová, whom he considers a professional, and called the campaign against her groundless. If she changed the leadership of some cultural institutions, he is convinced that she had every right to do so. The former head of the Department of Culture, Milan Kňažko, made widespread personnel changes in the whole of Slovakia after he took office, and the media remained silent. What are the actors protesting against? Did someone ban them from playing? he asked, referring to the strike emergency in SND and other theaters. He has the same opinion about the upcoming changes in STVR. He is against the "labeling" of people and dividing them into good and bad, which is commonly practiced today by mainstream media in Slovakia and the world. While in the past artists always fought for peace with their work, today we are witnessing the opposite: actors in Slovakia are recording videos where citizens are invited to fundraise for weapons for the war in Ukraine. "We are so close to a new world war that we should be afraid. Violence begets violence. "Whoever sends money for weapons is himself involved in the war," he responded.
