Patricia knew early on that she did not want to be a mother. She found it difficult to build a connection with the children around her. She simply did not see herself in the role of a mother. In addition, Patricia was depressed and had to take care of herself and her health a lot. At 24, Patricia became pregnant unintentionally. She was shocked and completely overwhelmed. She and Philipp had just made a good start to their professional lives and got a dog. A child did not fit into their lives, not least because the couple's financial situation was not particularly good. Philipp would like to become a father, but he noticed that Patricia did not want to have the child. He supported her 100%. He believes that bringing a child into the world if one of the parents doesn't want it makes no sense. Patricia finds the decision incredibly difficult, but together they decide to terminate the pregnancy. The abortion is carried out using medication, for which Patricia first has to go to a pregnancy counseling service (without which the abortion would be punishable) and then to a gynecologist. A week later, the follow-up appointment is scheduled, but her gynecologist is ill and the substitute practice is unavailable. It is not until a few weeks later that she goes to her doctor. There she receives the news that no one thought possible: she is 18 weeks pregnant. Their lives change suddenly from one day to the next. Their son Maxim is born healthy at the beginning of the year.
