The full episode is here: https://1.ard.de/Traumhauser-S3F4-ganz What does a farmhouse with tiny windows, a brick-red gable roof, a comfortable balcony and a traditional wooden facade have to do with modern architecture? Doris and Sebastian Wagnerberger's house only answers this question at second glance. It reveals the deliberate breaks in style, for example in the facade battens or the unusual, large openings on the west and south sides. However, even on closer inspection, you cannot see that the house is excellently equipped in terms of energy with good insulation, a geothermal heat pump, a controlled ventilation system and self-regulating sun protection and even meets passive house standards. The interior surprises with an unusual spatial concept: different ceiling heights, galleries, open room sequences, attractive lines of sight but also cleverly hidden storage space and cozy retreat areas. And all of this in a mixture of rural traditionalism and urban loft character. Architect and builder Sebastian Wagnerberger was keen to build in the tradition of his pre-Alpine homeland. However, he and his wife agreed: "It definitely shouldn't yodel like at the Musikantenstadl." The house should reflect the attitude to life of the family of four: connected to home, conscious of tradition, modern, contemporary, ecological and open to new things. Five years after moving in, author Birgit Eckelt returns to Chieming and finds that the design concept of the house is well received. Sebastian Wagnerberger has now designed six more houses in the style of his dream house and is already working on the next project.
