ISOLA D'ASTI (AT) – Taking Via Repergo, just beyond the town of Isola d'Asti, a large estate stands out in the countryside. The fenced cattle catch the eye and draw attention to the sign that stands in plain sight: Azienda Agricola “La Mandria”. A reality in the hands of the young owners Eleonora and Stefano who, since 2016, have carried out a daily and meticulous zootechnical activity with brood cows and bulls, Piedmontese breed animals raised in compliance with the regulations and according to specific needs so as to be subsequently sold to wholesalers or slaughterhouses. They are also available to customers in the company butcher's shop. The breeding procedure follows a precise method, but in the company's choice one practice stands out: that of free-range grazing, conducted on the Monferrato hills in the spring months and in the mountain pastures in the summer, before resting in the stables during the winter season. "Keeping the animals free makes a difference, especially for them," commented Stefano, showing some of the animals present on the estate. Which, to date, total three hundred units.
