In this video, I tell about the 5th defense blocks of the Border Jaeger Battalion in the spring and summer of 1942. The area of responsibility of the battalion was between Paatene and Jolmajärvi. The defense was based on field guard posts and liaison patrolling. To the northeast of Seesjärvi was the village of Seke, from where the Red Army sent partisans on extermination expeditions. Puutoinen's partisans made a patrol trip among the Finns in July-August 1941. When the partisans were discovered, a large-scale operation was launched to destroy the partisans. The partisan section included 700 men and, according to different sources, 35 to 47 women. The partisan hunt continued in the wilderness of Pieningä for a month. The Finns were able to destroy most of the partisans and only a small group was able to return to their side. For this video, I have processed the black and white images into color images using image processing programs. #Seesjärvi #Voijärvi #Jolmajärvi #Särkijärvi #Paatene #Ontajärvi #Voijärvi #Särkijärvi #Vuottojärvi #Lagus #Rajajääkäripatalion Kivikko #
