This time, we welcomed Tokusuke Sera, a guide for the Tsuwano Town Tourist Guide Club. Sera is 90 years old, but still in good health! He was a former Japanese National Railways engineer, and served as an engineer when the SL Yamaguchi was revived in 1979. We asked Sera about the D51 in front of Tsuwano Station, including his experiences and memories as an engineer. Until September this year, the Yamaguchi will be operated by a diesel locomotive, so it looks like we won't be able to see a steam locomotive running in Tsuwano for a while, but we hope that listening to Sera's story will help you experience the charm of the steam locomotive and the D51!
