The year before, Ignaz Hilzer from Vienna's New Town had cast a beautiful bell for the branch on Šmarna Gora, so they decided to order a new bell from him. The new bell weighed 2285 kg (40 cents 79 pounds) and rang in the tone of H°. How beautiful the outer face was supposed to be, or even more beautiful its echo, which was supposed to be heard for 2-3 minutes. The overall ringing was supposed to be pleasant, sweet. It rang in the tuning of H° - d' - g' - h'. The old bell with the tone of e' was supposedly sold to Hrastje when a new large bell was purchased. In 1895, an earthquake severely damaged the church, so much so that it had to be demolished. The new church was built in the years 1896 - 1900. According to the testimonies of locals, they managed to save the bells from the old church. In 1914, a new large bell was purchased for the parish church in Vodice from the Samass Foundry. Unfortunately, the First World War came and took its toll on Vodice as well. According to records, in 1917, the military administration took three of the four bells: 2668kg, 1122kg and 392kg. They were replaced with three new bronze ones from the Machine Factories and Foundries in 1922. The small bell that survived the war was supposedly placed in Tacen in 1922, where it was supposed to serve as a large bell. This creates a bit of a mystery, as the weight of 392kg is too small for the G tone. So either the medium-sized bell remained and this one was placed in Tacen, or additional bell changes took place in between. Among other things, the weight of 390kg is also a bit high for the tone h'. In the bell tower, a large bell of the shape typical of the late Samass period remains from the old bell, which confirms that the church must have once had a bronze bell of the tone B° or A° from the Samass foundry, as its dimensions correspond exactly to such a bell (verified in the Mengeš bell, which has the tone A°).
