Sorting letters, delivering packages and making sure that everything arrives at the customer on time: Astrid Quetscher enjoys her job as a postwoman at Deutsche Post. Even if that means getting up early and doing a lot of work with lots of packages. Especially in times of Corona or at Christmas time, when many people have lots of packages sent to them by post, Astrid also reaches her physical limits as a postwoman. You can find out how much she earns as a career changer and whether the salary as a postwoman is worth it in this documentary. Astrid Quetscher (30) has been with Deutsche Post for seven years. She is an employee with a 38.5 hour week and is paid according to Deutsche Post's in-house tariff. Her area of operation as a postwoman is Bad Reichenhall and the surrounding area, where she delivers the letters and packages by car and bicycle. As a postwoman, she is on the road five days a week - she also has to work regularly on Saturdays. And: As a delivery person, she is used to getting up early: her working day often starts at half past six in the morning. She is happy with her salary - also because she comes from a completely different industry: Astrid previously trained in the hotel and catering industry and worked there for some time. She is happy that she has more regular working hours and a higher salary at the post office. Astrid can imagine delivering packages and letters until she can no longer do it physically. Then her big dream is to become a truck driver for Deutsche Post. That's why she is currently saving up for a truck driver's license. In addition to being a postwoman, her second great passion is make-up. She has set up a part-time job as a cosmetics consultant with which she wants to earn some extra money. Since October 2019, she has been advising customers, selling and presenting cosmetic products at home parties and on the Internet. Even if it is not financially worthwhile after six months, the business gives her great joy. That is "Is it worth it?": One person, one job, one life. And in the end the question: Is it worth it? We accompany people in their profession and show their lives. Is it worth it to work for a salary and use it to finance your life? What makes me happy at work? We don't just compare salaries, we show how people live from their work. We are always looking for protagonists: If you also want to show how you live with your job, feel free to write to [email protected]!
