Paraná police prevent large-scale robbery and seize arsenal in Ponta Grossa ☠🚔 #curtadeolhosãojosé A joint operation between the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) and the Military Police of Paraná (PMPR) dismantled, this Friday (17), a gang specialized in violent crimes against property, such as bank and armored car robberies. The action took place on a farm in the Ponta Grossa region, where the group was preparing to carry out a large-scale robbery, such as taking over cities or attacking armored cars. In December of last year, the intelligence services of the PCPR and PMPR identified that a criminal group was organizing a large-scale violent robbery in the state. After the discovery, the institutions began an integrated effort to monitor and locate the suspects. As the investigation progressed, the group's hideout was identified, which was armed with a .50 caliber machine gun, rifles, and several explosives. While executing a search and seizure warrant, teams from the Integrated Tactical Special Repression Groups (TIGRE), from the PCPR, and the Special Operations Commands (COE), from the PMPR, were met with gunfire. The confrontation, which lasted about eight minutes, resulted in the death of six criminals. No police officers were injured. Items seized during the operation: • 7 rifles of calibers 5.56 and 7.62; • 1 .50 machine gun; • 1 .45 pistol; • Various ammunition; • 36 rifle magazines; • Bulletproof vests and plates; • Explosives; • Vehicle plates; • One armored and cloned vehicle. INTEGRATION COUNTERS CRIME - According to the Secretary of Public Security, Hudson Leôncio Teixeira, integration between the security forces was essential for the success of the operation. The work reaffirms the commitment of the Paraná police forces to combat organized crime and ensure the safety of the population. “This is a clear example of how the joint work of our forces can prevent high-impact crimes and protect the population of Paraná. The Paraná police are committed to combating organized crime with intelligence and efficiency,” he said. BY PCPR
