Substances present in papaya when placed in contact with cells extracted from intestinal tumors were able to reduce their proliferation. This happened in vitro, and in human tumors. What's more: the riper the papaya, the greater the action of the substances. These discoveries, published online in Scientific Reports, were made by researchers João Paulo Fabi and Samira Prado, from the Food Research Center (FoRC), at USP. Want to know more?
