Barrie’s beloved character. Peter (Levi Miller) is a mischievous 12-year-old with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life, those qualities are not well received. One incredible night, Peter is transported from the orphanage to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland. There, he finds himself having extraordinary adventures and fighting bloody battles as he tries to uncover the secret identity of his mother, who abandoned him so long ago, and his own place in this magical land. Teamed with warrior Tiger Lily (Rooney Mara) and her newfound friend James Hook (Garrett Hedlund), Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard (Hugh Jackman) to save Neverland and discover his true destiny—to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan. Wright directs “Pan” from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs. Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Oscar nominee Paul Webster (“Atonement”) are producing, with Tim Lewis serving as executive producer. The film also stars Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman (“Les Misérables”) as Blackbeard; Garrett Hedlund (“The Insider”) as James Hook; Oscar nominee Rooney Mara (“The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”) as Tiger Lily; newcomer Levi Miller as Peter; and Amanda Seyfried (“Les Misérables”) as Mary. Rounding out the cast are Adeel Akhtar (“The Dictator”) as Smee; Taejoo Na (“The Knick”) as Kwahu; Nonso Anozie (“Son of God,” “Atonement”) as Bishop; Kathy Burke (“Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”) as Mother Barnabas; Kurt Egyiawan (“Skyfall”) as Murray; Lewis MacDougall (UK’s “In the Name of the Children”) as Nibs; and Jack Charles (“Mystery Road”) as The Chief/Tiger Lily’s father. Wright’s behind-the-scenes creative team includes Oscar-nominated directors of photography Seamus McGarvey (“Anna Karenina,” “Atonement”) and John Mathieson (“The Phantom of the Opera,” “Gladiator”); Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“A Very Long Engagement,” “Amelie”); editor Paul Tothill (“Atonement,” “Pride & Prejudice”); Oscar-winning costume designer Jacqueline Durran (“Anna Karenina”); and makeup/hair designer Ivana Primorac (“The Imitation Game,” “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”). The music is by Oscar-winning composer Dario Marianelli (“Atonement”). Warner Bros. Pictures Presents, A Berlanti Production, A Joe Wright Film, “Pan.” Filmed at Warner Bros.
