Follow me on the Facebook page Simone jig adventures / simonechiariglione Episode 1 From today every Monday I will publish a new episode dedicated to the creation of live bait trolling rigs starting from the simplest up to the most elaborate with doubled, semi-doubled lines etc... Creating a simple and quick practical rig when we don't have ready-made rigs to interchange, because the fish are active and we have to get back to fishing immediately, this in my opinion is the best solution. Let's take a 0.60 fluorocarbon and two J hooks with a bent eye, but before mounting them on the line you need to protect them because all trolling hooks have an unwelded eye, so that part will break our fluorocarbon, causing us to lose the fish. To protect that unwelded part, the quickest solution is to tape the eyelet part with insulating tape, also taking a couple of millimetres of shank. Once protected, we can insert our trolling hook on the line, giving the right traction with a simple stationery elastic band to give the right traction to the hook to support the bait and also give the strength to strike the fish. After that, you need to insert a shock absorber and tie the ferrante hook directly on the shank, having the bent eyelet, and here we can make any type of knot to connect spade or bent eye hooks. Then we connect a swivel on the free end to unload the twists. Our rig is ready to go to sea.
