OWALLOIL - Hand 〈Sanullim 50th Anniversary Project〉 MV OWALLOIL 'Hand' Rising band OWALLOIL and the legend Kim Chang-hoon meet! The band OWALLOIL reinterpreted Sanullim's Kim Chang-hoon's solo song 'Hand'. 'Hand' is the title song of Kim Chang-hoon's 5th solo album 'Come&Go' released in 2019, and contains a message to reach out to each other, comfort each other, and stand in solidarity in modern society where warmth between neighbors is decreasing and warmth is growing bleak. Their remake this time was made possible as part of a remake project by Sanullim, a three-brother band consisting of Kim Chang-wan (vocals/guitar), Kim Chang-hoon (vocals/bass), and Kim Chang-ik (drums), to celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2027. The original song in the classic blues rock style was perfectly reborn as a present-tense song through May-Oil's unique sensual arrangement. While creating a dreamy atmosphere with rich synthesizer sounds, the lyricism is added with softly decorated string instruments, creating beautiful harmony. Their new 'hand', born in this way, reaches out to everyone from long-time Sanulrim enthusiasts to the general public living today, and announces the start of a project. The three-member band May-Oil, consisting of Jang Tae-woong (guitar), Kwak Ji-hyun (synthesizer), and Ryu Ji-ho (vocals, guitar), proved their potential by coming in fourth place on the band survival program 'Great Seoul Invasion' aired on Mnet last year. Kim Chang-hoon praised them, saying, "They are a new group that is creating a unique musical world with an attractive vocalist," and introduced them as "a team that the public should keep an eye on in the future." Ohwol Oil said, “I am honored to participate in Sanulrim’s project that wrote the history of Korean music as someone who is still starting out in music.” He also said, “I put a lot of thought into the arrangement to maximize the resonance of the lyrics.” It is said that the original singer, Kim Chang-hoon, also communicated directly with the band from the arrangement to the post-production stage, promoting harmony between seniors and juniors. Sanulrim’s 50th anniversary project, which started with Ohwol Oil’s “Hand,” will continue its first season by releasing six songs in a row by the end of this year. The epic journey will continue until 2027 when all 50 songs will be released.
