Their decision was in line with their son's wishes. The decision was still difficult for them. They were very grateful for the detailed advice they received from the German Organ Transplant Foundation. Around 8,700 people in Germany are currently on the waiting list for organ transplants. Almost 10 percent die while they wait. There are simply not enough donors in this country. The documentary "Gambling Transplantation - the long wait for an organ" accompanies people in their fight for survival and questions the decision-making solution that applies in Germany.
