Mother Marlene D'Oxum began her spiritual journey at the age of 7, accompanying her mother, Yalorixá Maria Escolástica Pedroso Versolato, at the Caboclo Sete Flechas terreiro, in São Paulo. Consecrated as a medium at the age of 14, at 20 she took on the role of Little Mother. In 1980, she and her mother founded the Terreiro de Umbanda Caboclo Mata Virgem, where Mãe Marlene assumed leadership at the age of 28, being consecrated as Yalorixá. Years later, he resumed his activities in the Aldeia de Umbanda Mamãe Oxum e Pai André and, in 2012, he founded the Temple of Umbanda Irmãos de Luz in Freguesia do Ó, where he continues his spiritual work. Baba Gâmby Ty Sangó, born in Ibirapitanga, Bahia, in 1964, started Candomblé at the age of 16, being consecrated by Mameto Alice de Ndandalunda. In São Paulo, his journey took him to different axés, until he found his way at Asé Assaba, where he was alongside Baba Kayalomin for 23 years. In September 2024, Baba Gâmby celebrated his 44 years as a saint, reinforcing his phrase of faith and perseverance: “Orí firm, orí strong.” Son of Sangó and Yemonjá, Baba Gâmby is known for his wisdom and deep commitment to Candomblé.
