At 8:35, after filling up with diesel, we set sail from the Marina di San Vincenzo towards Macinaggio, Corsica, for what will be our first night at anchor after purchasing our first boat the previous season. Our extreme caution, however, could not stop us given the weather forecast that predicted CALM seas throughout the Tyrrhenian/Ligurian Sea for the two days in question. We stopped at Cala del MORETO, south of Capraia, and then in the afternoon went to Cala della MORTOLA with an incredible seabed. In the late afternoon we set sail for the FINOCCHIAROLA anchorage, a stone's throw from MACINAGGIO, and spent the night there. In mid-morning, an unexpected, rather strong mistral wind made us prudently (perhaps too much) return towards Baratti where we finished spending these two fantastic days and then returned to San Vincenzo. The Ilver Thesi 32, completely refitted in the winter of 2015/2016, performed admirably, demonstrating great stability thanks to a historic and very successful hull. Two 6-cylinder Volvo Penta AD41 200hp turbodiesel engines power two Volvo Penta 290 Duo Prop sterndrives. The boat has a master cabin in the bow, separated from the dinette and the kitchen, a bathroom and a double cabin in the stern, also completely separate. It has an overall length of 11 m and a beam of 3.30 m. It is far too comfortable for a family of 3, but we have also gone out with 10 people and the average is always at least 4 adults and 2 children.
