Panel discussion with composer and instrumentalist Oskar Rózs. At the beginning, the guest comments on the circumstances that preceded his cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic on a new symphonic arrangement of the national anthem of the Slovak Republic. As he said, the idea was born in 2011 and his motivation was to use the potential of the anthem better than it is in its current instrumental form. According to him, it has a beautiful melody and text, while the primary intention was the same as in his other works - to affect the listener emotionally. "I wanted to bring something more majestic, calmer, wider and more modern," he specified. He offered the idea to the Department of Culture three times in the last thirteen years, and it only responded positively now, when the Secretary General of the Ministry's Service Office, Lukáš Machala, contacted him and offered to implement the project. After the early leak of this information, the mainstream media brought misinformation about the "change" of the national anthem, saying that it was a "waste of taxpayers' money". "No, I did not invent a new anthem that the evil Martina Šimkovičová will impose on the citizens of the Slovak Republic," he noted. He added that it is still the same hymn with its beautiful melody and text. He is convinced that everyone will recognize her intimately from the first notes, but will also appreciate her new clothes. The moderator reminded that the "case" surrounding the anthem arose based on the status of the singer and actress Dorota Nvotová, who senselessly politicized the matter from the beginning. He appreciated that Rózsa did not get scared like many other artists during similar attacks and reacted directly and sharply. "It is striking that he de facto does not understand the value of things," he remarked to Nvoto's address. He agreed with the claim that the media and politicians made a political case out of the newly prepared form of the national symbol of the Slovak Republic, which is the anthem, with the aim of continuing the long-term discrediting of the current leadership of the Ministry of Culture, but also because it is a matter related to the national identity of Slovaks. However, he expressed the opinion that it is better if this "war" takes place in the media sphere, and not on the real battlefield, because "he would rather pay four euros for butter, at the price of the fact that bombs will not fly over our heads". For him, the highest value is human life, and he refuses to have people speaking out against wars called fascists by the media, as is the case, for example, in the case of US presidential candidate Donald Trump. He cited the conflict in Ukraine as a warning of where the deliberate increase in political, social or ethnic tension can lead. "That's why we have to be careful about how we lead the young generation, which has the right to be disoriented, and not leave it to degenerate education," he said. He continued to reflect on the fact that the attack on the anthem, the ministry and his person are related to the long-term struggle of globalist forces against expressions of patriotism and national identity, which today does not only concern Slovakia and the Slovaks. We are a small nation and that is why certain forces feel that "they can easily get us because we have the resources and location", he thinks. However, according to him, it will not be so easy to destroy our national consciousness and culture. In this context, he mentioned the fact that we are included in the UNESCO cultural heritage list as a small nation with the largest number of shades of folklore in the world. Regarding the low national self-confidence of Slovaks, which Ľudovít Štúr already complained about, he noted that we do not have a "defective gene", as some "world citizens" claim. According to him, during their history, Slovaks were not characterized by aggressiveness towards other nations, they were modest and, above all, they had a conscience. "We are not a seafaring nation that conquered territories, killed everyone, looted resources and started expanding there. We always only defended our territory, we never attacked or expanded," he said. He added that if they would let us improve our country, we would also gain more self-confidence. However, we are to a large extent "exiles in our own territory", because today - like other countries - we are suffocated by the globalization of multinational corporations. However, he described as hopeful the fact that we are part of the Slavic world, which, in his words, has a future, unlike the Western one, which is collapsing in terms of values. At the end of the interview, he talked about where the liberalized society has reached in more than three decades after the regime change in 1989. "We have reached a stat
