In August 2024, the Ortler was on our agenda as a highlight. We heard our friend Andy from South Tyrol, who has sadly passed away, rave about the tour in 2021. But he also said that it was not that easy to climb. After a few other great tours recently and also many winter tours, it was clear - this year we want to go up. We teamed up with the mountain guide Max and met him at the Payerhütte on the eve of the summit day. The tour was simply incredibly beautiful, very varied and adventurous and the view was breathtaking. Due to the darkness, not quite as much video material was taken on the ascent, but a little more on the descent. I will refrain from describing the tour here, as this is a very popular tour and you can find a lot of details about the normal route. Have fun watching and climbing it yourself - King Ortler, we will be back, no question!!! :)
