What is the difference between organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry can be quite confusing. It is often said that something is organic when it contains C atoms, but this is an oversimplification, and there are many exceptions to this rule. Another rule that the substance must contain CH bonds is a much better rule that almost always holds. Even there are a few exceptions, but it is in many ways the best rule to stick to. In the film I explain what characterizes organic chemistry and inorganic chemistry, and what topics they are about. Finally, I also discuss polar and non-polar substances in organic and inorganic chemistry.
