Communist Party, National Front, Legality: Who fought? Debate on the Second World War (Partizan + Balliste + German) - Guests: Liri Belishova, Rahman Perllaku, Ahmet Nivica, Beqir Ajazi. Blendi Fevziu: Good evening, Tv Klan viewers! I speak to you like every Thursday at 21:00 from the studio of the weekly show Opinion. In a debate that I announced a week ago, in a debate that is related to a topic that seems to be current but is a historical topic, a topic that is related to November 28, the holiday that we are expected to celebrate, the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the liberation of Albania from the German invaders, but also the Italian ones before. A celebration that certainly includes a debate that has included the main protagonists of World War II, those who were listed in the 3 main political and combat formations of that time, those who belonged to the Communist Party, those who belonged to the National Front formation and the Legality formation. 60 years after the war, that is, 60 years after what we call the liberation of Albania, there are protagonists of those years, four protagonists of those years, four people who fought, were integrated, participated directly in the combat formations of that time, as I said in different formations, who have reunited in this studio to discuss some of the biggest questions that remain from that time. There are four people who have marked their lives when they were at a very young age, so their entire subsequent life has been marked by their commitment to the war. There are four protagonists who belong to three different formations. Starting from Mrs. Liri Belishova, representative of the partisan formations led by the Communist Party at that time. Mr. Rrahman Parllaku, also a representative of the partisan formations led by the Communist Party. Mr. Ahmet Nivica, representative of the Balli Kombëtar formations which, as I said, were led by the Central Committee of the Balli Kombëtar. Mr. Beqir Ajazi, representative and at the same time one of the people engaged in the Legality formation led by Abaz Kupi. There are four protagonists who, for the first time in 60 years, have the opportunity to confront their opinions face to face on what happened in World War II. It is a painful debate for most of them. As I said, they were at a very young age and this participation has marked their entire subsequent lives. However, before we start the debate, I would like each of the guests to present as concisely and briefly as possible the engagement they had during the moments of the war and currently. Mrs. Belishova, what was your commitment during the war? Liri Belishova: I worked with youth and at first I was one of the leaders of the Communist and anti-fascist Youth of Tirana and then one of the leaders of the anti-fascist Communist Youth of all of Albania. Blendi Fevziu: Mr. Parllaku? Rrahman Parllaku: I participated in the war from November 28, 1941. I was initially in the guerrilla units of Vlora, then their commander from March to March 23, 1943, then I was battalion commissar in the 5th Brigade, deputy brigade commissar in the 8th Brigade and I was transferred with the same duty to the 3rd Brigade. With this brigade I went from Southern Albania to Kosovo. In Kosovo I was appointed commander of the 5th division and was promoted to lieutenant colonel on November 28, 1944. I commanded the division in the lands of Yugoslavia in the Sandzak up to Southern Bosnia, these were my duties during the war. Blendi Fevziu: Mr. Nivica? Ahmet Nivica: During the Italian occupation on April 7, 1939, I was at the trade school in Vlora. On April 7, when the Italian forces landed in Vlora, Neshat Kolonja came with a division of the Elbasan army and some villagers and some students of the trade school participated. That is, for the first time I took up my first weapon against the occupier on April 7, 1939. This continued in the family. The whole family was in the war. Then I joined the National Liberation forces that were called, which I now call “Nacional Gënjeshtare”. Then I went with the communist groups, we fought together, I was wounded in the war in Tepelena against the fascist occupiers up to Mukje. In Mukje we were deceived and all of Albania knows this, there is no need to prolong it here. I broke away from this and settled in Delvinë in Kurvelesh where we had a house, a shop and some things. From there I took part in the movement again with the Delvinës Brigade. After some unrest that I will tell you later, I formed the Balliste Nationalist Youth. I fought in the Gjirokastra district. After Zylfo Daci fled from Gjirokastra, I took Gjirokastra and then I went to Kosovo and then I fled with Mit'hat Frashëri and the leadership of the Balli Kombëtar when we lost the war to emigrate to Italy.
