Turandot, which was held as the largest outdoor opera at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in 2003, rewrote the history of domestic opera with the moving performance of the Italian original team. 'Again 2024 Turandot', which will be held again after 21 years, will be a mega-scale opera with a total production cost of approximately 20 billion won. Davide Libermore, director of Milan’s Teatro alla Scala, will conduct the opera under Paolo Carignani. Soprano Asmik Grigorian, who has emerged as a diva of the world’s operas, will play the role of Turandot, while Yusif Eivazov will play the role of Calaf, who loves Turandot. Founded in 1883, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra is visiting Korea for the first time in 141 years. It was originally planned to meet Korean audiences with its first performance in Korea in 2022, but it was postponed by two years due to COVID-19. The upcoming performance, which will be held at Lotte Concert Hall on the 19th and 20th, will feature opera music such as Wagner's opera 'The Flying Dutchman' and Bartok's opera 'Bluebeard's Castle' on the first day, and the closing performance will be Mozart's aria 'I Will Go, But Where?' and Mahler's Symphony No. 5 on the second day.
