In this OpenClass, the most important aspects of ADHD in children and adolescents will be discussed, as well as the best practices and treatments for a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach from the educational and health field with child psychiatrist Pilar de Castro: ADHD is one of the most common disorders today, affecting children, adolescents and adults, interfering in all areas of their life: school, family, social or work. Learn to identify the different signs of attention deficit and hyperactivity and improve the development of your students with ADHD in the classroom. According to data collected by the American Psychiatric Association (2013) in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), the prevalence of the disorder in childhood is 5%. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve the quality of life of affected children. Under this precept, the school and its teaching staff play an essential role both in the intervention and detection of students with ADHD.
