Their love, which lasted in correspondence for almost two decades, survived the hard times of the era and revealed to the world a unique duet of poetic souls. The only meeting abroad separated them forever, turning friendship into bitter caution. Pasternak was the last to see Tsvetaeva off on her fateful trip to Yelabuga, from which she never returned. And she left with a hidden resentment at the "betrayal" of love and creativity. The fates of Tsvetaeva and Pasternak turned out to be tragic both in their solitude and in their unity.
