#via ferrata #hiking #saxonswitzerland The Starke Stiege in Rauschengrund Today's tour leads from the car park on the Holzlagerplatzweg over the small bastion near Schmilka to Rauschengrund. From there it goes via a climbing approach past the Pionierturm. Then it goes in the direction of Rotkehlchenstiege and along a section of the Unterer Terrassenweg until finally the Starke Stiege. This is one of the more demanding staircases in Saxon Switzerland and requires some climbing experience and surefootedness. Inexperienced hikers should be secured. The descent through the Langen Grund is steep and slippery via a climbing approach. Absolute surefootedness is also a prerequisite there. Climbing approaches is not generally prohibited. However, you should be aware of the dangers when walking these paths. They are often exposed and require climbing experience.
