#ndr #ndrdoku #customs Hermann Herzog is probably one of the most experienced drug inspectors in Germany. For almost 30 years, the 66-year-old customs officer has been on duty, mainly on the A30 around the Gildehaus border crossing, checking vehicles coming from the Netherlands. In some years, he and his colleagues from the Osnabrück main customs office seize up to 100 kilograms of drugs from traffic. Some cars are escorted to the customs search garage and then literally taken apart. Drug dealers stow the substance in specially created hollow spaces. Hermann Herzog is accompanied by his young colleague Christina Gerwing and customs officer and dog handler Gerhard Weiß with his drug detection dog Raptor. More and more drugs are coming to Germany from abroad, mostly hashish and cocaine. The drugs are transported via the A30 and A2 to distribution centers in Hamburg, Hanover or Berlin. The Nordreportage accompanies Hermann Herzog and the team from the Mobile Control Group on their missions.
