Son of the late pastor Francisco Assis Gomes and Izabel Nunes Gomes. Brother of Heli, who has passed away, and twin of Essi, who lives in Rio de Janeiro. He learned to read at the age of three and by the age of seven had already read the entire Bible. Married to Pastor Maura de Oliveira Gomes, from whom six children were born: Pastors Jay Jadhiel (California, USA), Joel (California, USA), Geziel (fondly memory), Jeriel (Florida, USA), Jesimiel Moisés (Florida, USA) and Queila (Florida). He has 16 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and nephews. He has been a journalist since 1959. Ordained to the sacred ministry on May 15, 1960, at the AD temple in S. Cristóvão, RJ. Of which church he was co-pastor and vice-president for about two decades. Co-founder of EPOE – School for the Preparation of Evangelical Workers, of the AD in S. Cristóvão, Rio, RJ. Official preacher of the EVANGELISTIC CRUSADE CHRIST, THE ONLY ONE IS THE ANSWER. During the Crusade in Accra, Ghana, the President of the Republic, General Achampon, received Christ as his personal Savior. He was a professor for 3 years at the IBP – Pentecostal Bible Institute, in Rio de Janeiro. He was president for 2 years of the EVANGELICAL PHILANTHROPICAL INSTITUTE, in Rio de Janeiro. He pastored churches in Olaria and Rio Comprido, RJ; Caxambu, MG; Sobradinho, DF; and Recife, PE; in addition to 15 years of missionary activities in the United States. He is the author of 46 books. He has visited more than 50 countries, in most of which he has held Conferences and/or Evangelistic Crusades. For almost two decades he was a proofreader and then editor of the MENSAGEIRO DA PAZ, the official organ of the AD in Brazil. He was Secretary of the CGADB – General Convention of the Assemblies of God in Brazil several times. He was a member of the LAUSANNE COMMITTEE FOR WORLD EVANGELIZATION. He participated in the International Evangelism Conference, promoted by the Billy Graham Association, in Bermuda. Founder and President of the CEC - Continental Evangelism Center, through which he held 103 SENEPs, National Seminar of Full Evangelism. Founder of ITMT - Training Institute for Transcultural Missions. Doctor of Theology from THE LIVING LIGHT BIBLE COLLEGE and THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY, based in Santa Ana, California, USA. President of UNICA - Union of Missionary Churches Canaã. President of Editora Nova Esperança, responsible for the distribution of its books, DVDs, etc. Preacher at the closing ceremony of the celebration of the 98th anniversary of the AD in Brazil, in the city of Belém, PA. He received the titles of Meritorious Citizen of the State of Rio de Janeiro and the City of Rio de Janeiro. He represented Evangelism Pátrio at the promulgation ceremony of the Constituent Assembly. On January 21, 1986, he was awarded the title of Personality of Ilha do Governador by the newspaper ILHA NOTICIAS, for his outstanding services to the community in 1985.
