Long planning, new motorhome - now it finally started. 4 weeks in Italy lay ahead of us. We started on September 7th, 2024 with a "small" detour, the destination of the stage was the Black Forest. After a stopover with good friends, we continued on to Switzerland. Unfortunately, rain and low-hanging clouds accompanied us. Our route took us over the Susten Pass to the Steingletscher. From the top of the pass we drove in thick fog. Without a sat nav and announcements of the bends, it would have been almost impossible to continue. Fortunately, we reached the parking lot at the Steingletscher without any damage, but with frayed nerves. The next morning we were able to see how beautiful our position was. But we wanted to continue. Today we were finally going to Italy. From the Susten Pass we went further south over the Grimsel and Siplon passes. The weather was also good and the sun finally came out. We rolled past Alessandria to Genoa. The selected parking space was on the "Monte Fasce". At 832 meters high, it is one of the highest elevations in the catchment area of the city and has a significant impact on the cityscape. The journey there was more than an adventure. Google led us through narrow and winding roads that are definitely not designed for a motorhome. After 30 minutes of extreme tension, however, we were rewarded. High above Genoa and with a wonderful view of the sea, we parked our "Emma". This place became our home for two days. It was time to arrive. Just enjoy and unwind. In the morning we were woken up by wild horses, during the day we explored the area and in the evening we enjoyed the sunset over Genoa. So it can continue. Pure vacation!
