'45 suspects have been identified, nine of whom are in custody,' says Chief of Police Netherlands Janny Knol about the violence in Amsterdam. Hide and seek is timeless, but the scale of this violence requires additional manpower, resources and authorities. 'We cannot conduct surveillance in closed groups online, as we do on the streets.' Israeli services have shared information via international channels, but according to Knol it remains emphatically a Dutch investigation: 'Israelis share with us, we do not share with Israel. Knol emphasises the importance of addressing each other and entering into dialogue, but also emphasises that the situation requires clear signals: 'Because it is truly awful when people no longer feel safe in our own country.' She adds: 'It is very important that we, the police, politicians, mayors, society extend a generous hand to each other.' ➡ Subscribe to not miss anything and join the conversation: http://bit.ly/buitenhof-abonneren ➡ Watch another video about politics: https://bit.ly/buitenhofyt-politiek This video is from the broadcast of Buitenhof on November 17, 2024: https://bit.ly/buitenhof-17-nov-24 About Buitenhof: Buitenhof discusses politics and current affairs in in-depth interviews, debates or discussions.
