About :

The world around us has its own inexorable rhythms. Just as one cannot speed up the arrival of day or prevent the arrival of night or spring or autumn, so too cannot man influence these rhythms governed by various cosmic movements. But it will not go well if one does not recognize them. That is why, from the earliest days, people have tried to harmonize themselves with planetary and cosmic rhythms – through calendars. At first, only for agricultural purposes, but as societies became more complex, it became increasingly important to have a single measurement of time so that a great empire could function at all, both within itself and in relation to nature. One of the oldest problems that people faced with calendars was that they had to somehow harmonize the periods dictated by the movement of the moon and those dictated by the movement of the sun. However, there were always some decimals, some extra days or minutes that could not be squeezed into the regularity of the calendar. How people approached the issue of calendars throughout history – we will measure here: on the edge of science!
