Entry, exit, security checks at the airport: that's Nathan's job as a federal police officer at Munich Airport. Natthakul - or as he is colloquially known: Nathan - is 28 years old and works in Terminal 1 on patrol and as a border guard. When he sets off for work at the airport in the morning, Nathan doesn't know what to expect. It's only at the police station in the airport that he is assigned his tasks for the day. His daily work consists of: entry checks, exit checks, patrolling and "standing secure" at the security check at the airport. He says: "It never gets boring" because the tasks are constantly changing. It gets stressful when planes are delayed and land unexpectedly. Even then, passengers have to be checked - even when you should actually be taking a short break. As a police officer at the airport, Nathan also has to be very vigilant all day - because the airport is not a normal workplace, like any other office, and cannot be compared to any other police station. It is considered to be vulnerable or critical infrastructure. There are many people here who need to be protected. His private life story is also impressive: At the age of 10 in 2003, Nathan moved to Germany with his mother from Thailand. He grew up in Franconia and completed his secondary school leaving certificate at a business school there in 2012. He then began an apprenticeship as a merchant for insurance and finance, but then realized that this was not a good fit for him. He then joined the Bundeswehr in 2014. With his German passport, he had the opportunity to realize his dream in 2017 and do an apprenticeship with the police. Since March 2020, Nathan has been working for the Federal Police at Munich Airport. — This is "Is it worth it?": One person, one job, one life. And at the end of the day, the question: Is it worth it? We accompany people in their jobs and show their lives. Is it worth it to work for the salary and use it to finance your own life? What makes me happy about work? We don't just compare salaries, we show how people live from their work. If you also want to show how you live with your job, you are welcome to write to [email protected]! On a personal note: We are not infallible either - and although we make every effort to present every individual financial situation clearly, correctly and understandably, we sometimes need help. The Bavarian State Association of Tax Advisory and Auditing Professions e. V. always provides us with competent support - thank you very much for that!
