After the Pacific Crest Trail, I have focused on other jobs and hobbies, so hiking has unfortunately been left behind. However, I decided to try a slightly more traditional week-long hike for the first time in my life and experience the northern autumn colors in the landscapes of Urho Kekkonen National Park in September 2024. Unfortunately, according to experienced wilderness visitors, the autumn colors were not the best that Lapland has to offer, but I still enjoyed the trip immensely and remembered again why I originally got into hiking (including the scenery, encounters, going at my own pace, freedom, peace, lack of everyday obligations). I hope you enjoy the trip and I can entice you to start hiking! 0:00 Aittajärvi 5:39 Wading in the Suomujoki River 9:11 Kuotmuttipää 10:22 Kaarnepää 11:04 Sarvijoki 15:12 Paratiisikuru 16:10 Pirunportti 17:13 Muorravaarakanruoktu 20:36 Anterinmukka 23:00 Siliäselkä 26:35 Vongoiva 28:08 Vongoivanräystäs 32:59 Tahvontuva sauna 33:36 Vongoivanmänniköt 35:22 Siulanruoktu 37:48 Hammaskuru 39:49: Akanhärkäkuru 40:34 Near Suppu-Kotavaara 43:33 Pälkkimäoja 45:55 Porttikoski 47:11 Porttikoski Desert Hut 49:27 Lankojärvi 51:30 Rautulampi 53:55 Final words 55:22 Highlights of the trip 56:50 Extra material Follow my trips on Instagram: / katskihikes This is how you can get started with hiking: https://www.luontoon.fi/fi/lajit/retk...
