The play "Omer and Merima" by the Yugoslav Drama Theater from 1970 was based on the text of Miroslav Belović and Stevan Pešić, who found inspiration in the tragic folk ballad "The Death of Omer and Merima". Miroslav Belović also directed this play, which was obviously successful both among the professional public and the audience. That year, 1970, at Sterija's theater, she won three Sterija awards (director - Belović, female role - Maja Dimitrijević and music - Enriko Josif.) In the play, in addition to experienced actors, Adem Čejvan, Maja Dimitrijević and Kapitalina Erić performed exceptionally young actors, the so-called "Bojan's babies" - Milan Gutović, Mirjana Vukojičić and Svetlana Bojković.
