At the end of 2008, 25 new trolleybuses arrived in Balakovo as a gift from the Minister of Transport of the Saratov Region. Of these, 15 were ZiU-682G-016 (012) and 10 were ZiU-682G-016 (018). These two models differ mainly in the old and new trolleybus masks, respectively. As of July 2023, 12 of the 25 trolleybuses continue to operate in Balakovo. The vehicles are already 15 years old this year, and it's time for the administration and other officials to think about updating the rolling stock.
