After having seen in the previous video several abandoned railway rolling stock in Germagnano ( • OLD ABANDONED TRAINS IN GERMAGNANO… ) now here are some more. The years go by and little by little many trains that were running until recently are stopped, set aside or abandoned, awaiting a future decision. This is the case of some rolling stock now belonging to the former GTT (Gruppo Torinese Trasporti), set aside for some time in the Pont Canavese station (Rivarolo - Pont Canavese line). The Pont station was activated in 1906 and is the terminus of the Canavese railway. Since November 2020, no diesel trains have been running, so the service is being carried out by replacement buses until RFI, which has been the infrastructure manager since 1 January 2024, electrifies the remaining stretch to Rivarolo Canavese. To date, only the bar is active at the terminus, while everything around it is abandoned. Speaking of the rolling stock present, you will initially see the exterior and interior of the ALn668 M.004 coupled to the trailer Ln882 R.4 and then moving on to the ALn668 M.002. All three rolling stock in question feature the old orange livery, in particular the two ALn668s were built by Fiat of Savigliano in 1972 marked M.001-M.007, derived from the 1800 series and are currently the only ones with the old livery while the remaining five wear the blue livery. Speaking of the trailer Ln882 R.4 is part of a batch of five units classified R.1-R.5 and built in 1982 by FIAT Ferroviaria di Savigliano. Currently it should be the last Ln882, since the remaining four have been demolished. All of these were mainly used on the non-electrified section of the Canavese line. Finally there is a R.102 built by Officine Meccaniche Pinerolo in 1928 together with 8 other units (R.101 - R.109). Currently there is not much news of the remaining ones, but we do not exclude that they may have already been demolished. In this video you can see the external and internal rolling stock in question in a state of abandonment at the Pont Canavese station. Enjoy!
