We talked to movement professional Petr Růžička about natural movement as part of our everyday life. We were interested in how he perceives the connection between body and mind and what it is like with movement during pregnancy and after childbirth. Petr shared with us his insight into pain, how to train our attention, emotion and perception, and to what extent working with rhythm is connected to our life cycles. Petr himself mentions: “Through movement, we perceive our body, the environment around us and then we can understand who we are… and who we are not… and what we want to do and, conversely, what we do not want to do…” “The body is the best tool we have…” “What moves, lives. Petr Růžička - is an amazingly inspiring person. He has been moving and exploring the human body his whole life. Through yoga, karate, judo and martial arts to kettlebells. Since 2005, he started practicing (and later teaching) CrossFit in the Czech Republic, to which he gave 6 years of his life. He ended up with kettlebells and CrossFit before both became popular (and for good reason). From 2012-2023, he was a student of an Israeli teacher named Ido Portal, whose inspiration you can find in his teachings. He completed "The Movement Camp" in 2013 in Singapore, 2015 and 2016 in Thailand. Plus a number of seminars and meetings as part of the Ido Portal Mentorship program.
