A patient with Nutcracker Syndrome, which is quite rare and difficult to diagnose, regained her health thanks to our hospital’s qualified infrastructure and expert team. Gülten Kartal (41), who had complaints of severe abdominal pain, bloating and insomnia, applied to Düzce University Hospital after treatments at other centers failed to yield results. In the tests performed at our hospital, General Surgery Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Kemal Peker determined that the patient’s left renal vein was compressed between the aorta and the intestinal artery and diagnosed the patient with Nutcracker Syndrome, a very rare disease. The patient, who was found suitable for surgery, regained her health with the operation performed by Prof. Dr. Kemal Peker and his team.
